During the month of October, for every item of non-perishable food a patron donates, that patron can receive $1 off their library fines.
Every year Columbia Public Library aims to support our local pantries.
If you are looking for a way to pay down your library fines or would like to just donate, consider bringing in some of the following:
Canned beans, meats, vegetables, fruits; cooking oils; dried herbs and spices; crackers, granola bars, nuts, or whole grained cereal; pasta, quinoa, or rice; canned or packaged soups, stew and chili; instant mashed potatoes or meals in a box; broths or stocks; milk substitutes, sauce; and peanut butter.
Think of non-perishable items you use from day-to-day or when fixing holiday meals for your family. Allow low-income or families going through rough times a smoother transition through the holidays. We will not accept expired, opened, or deeply dented items for fines.
